Inspired by a weekly potluck
Once upon a time, an (almost) weekly potluck in Eugene, Oregon named Tortilla Thursday became somewhat of a local legend — organically growing to a group chat of over 125 members.
The limits of the group text were quickly felt: no easy way to handle RSVPs, too many notifications, and friction installing the app.
That led to the idea for TortillaNet: a friendly app designed to help folks host more in-person events, more often.
We hope it facilitates more connection and less time spent scrolling.
